Inspired by Park City’s Silver King mine, the historic town landmark lost to fire in 1989, the Legacy Lodge and
Mountainside project underscores the area’s mining history. In a style described as “mining modern,” its scale, character, materials, and relationship to landscape acknowledge the rambling mountain mining structures
that still pepper the adjacent mountain landscape. The team’s success is not only evident in the building’s
approval (it is both the tallest structure in Park City and the first to attain unanimous Planning and City Council
approval) but in that the building actually delivers on the promise illustrated in its conceptual rendering.
